Overview

PRT® (1553-135)
  • Military-grade polyolefin meets SAE-AMS-DTL-23053/5
  • Z-3250-Tape™ offers exceptional EMI shielding and ease of installation with an adhesive and paper release liner
  • Z-Block® (135) is a high-temperature, water-blocking adhesive protects from most fluids, oils, and greases

PRT® (1553-135) is a kit that includes wrap-around heat shrink with a high-temperature, water-blocking adhesive and an EMI shielding tape. The polyolefin heat shrink is military grade with meeting MIL-DTL-23053/5C and UL-rated meeting UL 224, VW-1. The heat shrink is non-flammable, abrasion resistant, fluid resistant, and fungus resistant. This polyolefin is ideal for wires exposed to rugged conditions and require durable protection, or for damaged cables that need a long lasting repair.

The heat shrink is lined with the Z-Block® (135) water-blocking, hot-melt adhesive. The Z-Block® (135) is resistant to fluids, water, oils, and greases. The adhesive will create no corrosion of copper and aluminum substrates, and will prevent any fluids from penetrating into the wires or cables.

The PRT® (1553-135) kit includes the Z-3250-Tape™ for shielding against EMI, RFI, and EMF. The shielding tape has a corrosion-resistant coating made of plated copper and nickel, and will not flake over time. The Z-3250-Tape™ is equipped with an adhesive closure to make wrapping around the wire or cable quick and easy.

Installation of PRT® (1553-135) only requires a standard heat gun. Simply wrap the wire or wires to be repaired with the EMI shielding tape, then wrap with the Z-Block®. Once you have wrapped your wire/wires, follow the detailed instructions on our website to properly shrink the PRT®. The heat shrink can also be cut to any desired length. PRT® (1553-135) is offered in 6” pieces, for diameter ranges from 0.075” to 0.249”, with custom lengths and sizes available upon request. The operational temperature range is -67°F to 275°F (-55°C to 135°C).

ATTENUATION DATA WAS OBTAINED USING MIL-DTL-83528H (MODIFIED). TESTING WAS PERFORMED BY ACCREDITED, THIRD-PARTY EMI LABORATORIES.
